Sauce of Delight

“I AM often astonished, gobsmacked, impressed and awed by the way some restaurateurs devote themselves so wholly - body and soul - to their passion of feeding others. Jagjeet Kaur, originally from the Punjab village of Phillaur, is the lifeblood of Red Pepper, a marvellous, family-run Indian restaurant at the Parliament end of Bourke Street.”

Indian food occupies a popular slot in Melbourne. But how close is it to authentic home cooking? And is the cheap-and-cheerful curry primed for an upmarket restaurant breakthrough?

I have been going to Red Pepper regularly since the last four years. It's simply the best Indian restaurant in Melbourne. I appreciate very much the consistency in quality and taste. When it is busy the service is slow sometimes, but I go there for the food which is definitely worth the wait.
